
Port Wine
Recipe from the Purefoy Hotel Cook Book - Talladega, Alabama 1941
Ingredients
- 1 quart bottle Welch's grape juice
- 2 lbs granulated sugar
- 1 pkg raisins with seeds removed
- 2 quarts cold water
- 1 yeast cake
Instructions
- Mix and let stand 14 days stirring twice a week.
- Filter and let stand until ready for use. 30 days is a good length of time. The longer the better.
- Makes 3 quarts.
