Over the next couple of posts I will be sharing some recipes I grew up with in the 1980’s. Just thinking about them brings back memories of Saturday evening supper time. Enjoy!
Monkey Bread
Ingredients
- 4 Cans of ready to bake biscuits
- 1/2 c Sugar
- 1 T Cinnamon
- 1 Stick Butter
- 3/4 c Brown Sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut biscuits in half and shake in a paper bag with sugar and cinnamon. Place in bundt pan. Melt butter, brown sugar and cinnamon and pour mixture over biscuits. Bake 20-30 minutes. Pull apart to eat. Add nuts if desired.
Yep, sure grew up with Monkey Bread, yum! How about Amish Friendship Bread? That was always so popular here…it has a starter like sour dough, but the bread is sweet. Oh how the starter piles up…everyone was sharing it!
