Love the rain!

Late yesterday evening the skies clouded up like it was going to rain. The temperature outside was only into the upper 80’s by mid day.. very nice for a change. I am so ready for autumn to arrive and the much needed cooler weather, especially since I am training (emphasis on ‘training’) for a half marathon and a full marathon in October. Running when it’s in the upper 90’s with 80% humidity is painful, even if I do get the majority of my running in after dark. On some days it’s just impossible to get in the needed mileage. Saturdays are long run days, 12 miles last week. I’m not fast, but I’m consistent with my time. That’s a good thing considering I’m not out to win a marathon, but to just complete it. A major milestone in itself.

Speaking of milestones.. I found another awesome lotion from Three Seeds Naturals!

This lotion has a fresh scent that is intoxicating! Three Seeds Naturals only use the best ingredients and the best shea butter! It smooths on light and is non-greasy too! The scent is vanilla with a hint of fig. I have a feeling this scent will be a hit for any season, especially autumn. For some reason vanilla reminds me of winter and cooler weather.. maybe it’s from all those vanilla latte’s I used to drink!

Check Three Seeds Naturals out! I’m sure you will love their lotions as much as I do!

5 Before Sunrise…

Up at 0430 and down to Blount Cultural Park (Shakespeare) by 0530.. it was odd running in the dark.  There are lots of street lights around the park however most seem to not be working this morning.  So I just headed over by the art Museum where the parking lot was lit up a good bit, and I could see the ground better.  Plus with all the lakes at the park, I didn’t want to run on the trails just in case a snake may be wiggling by.   I didn’t use my first and wanted to be able to hear everything around me.
At mile two my watch beeped and spooked a flock of Canadian geese that were sleeping nearby…even spooked me a little bit too when they all started squawking at the same time!
The run went pretty good, and I was able to do 12 of my planned 13 miles before the humidity was just too much.  Hands are still swelled up..usual for me on long runs in the heat.  Ok, I think it’s nap time, or maybe I’ll schedule a massage!
