Found this one in the Home Comfort Cook Book (1946). This cook book came with a new stove when purchased…plus it told you how to keep the fire going so that you don’t wake up to a cold stove come breadfast time!
Yesterday evening while leaving work I noticed the AAFES gas station lined up five or six cars deep on each pump… word had it that they would adjust their prices every hour or so. At the time gas there was $3.68. So since I can’t buy there, I just waited until I was closer to the house. I was able to fill up on super for $4/gallon…they were already out of regular at $3.70/gallon. Then I was on my way to see someone about my hair and to see what I could do with all the gray.
Fast forward just an hour and all the gas stations around Montgomery and out our way are now out of gas… joy joy, this is going to be fun.
Governor Riley declared a state emergency so that gas stations would not price gouge…
I’ll be thinking about all those people out in Texas that are now with out power, flooded, missing, and stranded…being out of gas for a vehicle here doesn’t sound so bad…
