Where did it all go?

Have you ever had a moment of Déjà Vu.. maybe it’s not the same thing, but it’s like when you see something then remember it in a different way. OK, I’m confusing you aren’t I?

Here are a few examples:

  • pay phones – I remember them costing a quarter for two minutes of local time, now $1 lets you talk anywhere in the US, if you can find a pay phone.  I believe cell phones killed the pay phone concept.
  • sugar dispensers – not sugar packets like you see everywhere now, but the glass jar type with the hole in the top, and there was only one type of sugar.
  • black and white television – now we have color, HD, Plasma….and who could live with only 13 channels and a “UHF” channel you had to tune in.
  • television series – being able to keep up with all the series that were on television just because there were only 2 or 3 networks.  Now it’s practically impossible to watch and keep up with everything (not that I want to).

Ok… that’s just a few random thoughts that came to me this morning.   Did I mention random? LOL  What about you.  Leave me some comments of things you’ve noticed too.

  1. So I have been thinking about this for the past several days and here is all I could come up with…

-Drive-ins…now it is drive-thru…Sonic tries but A&W drive-thru’s with frosty mugs of root beer were the bomb!

-Drive in theaters…I know a few exist across the country but unfortunately they went away for the safer and more comfortable conditions of theaters.

-Pizza Parlor’s, we used to go in to Village Inn to sit down and have pizza…there was even a movie screen in the back section where they played old black and white Little Rascal’s films!

Ok…well that is what I was thinking…the world it is a changing!

Hope you are doing well! Oh yea…amazing home your aunt has! Really awesome!
