Helped out moving everything from the old Dojo to the new Dojo today. My job was making sure all the nails were out of the wall, ’supervise’ and take some more photos to upload to the webpage.LOL. Since I still can’t lift much it was the best I could do.
Everything is finally moved.. now the hard part.. unpacking and everything finding its new home. More than likely it will still be a week or so before our grand opening. Still have to wait on the electricians to finish the outside hook-up and get everything organized. Now’s the time when I wish I was able to go to class… its going to be fun to finally be in our own dojo, and we have massive amounts of room now too.. no more cramped classes. Time to recruit more students too, we’ve got plenty of room!
Ok.. its 3pm and we’ve not had lunch yet either.. hmm… what to eat… Later!
I just realized… the past two years I’ve lost friends during the month of May. No..not lost like your thinking, but lost as in they are military families and transfered to new duties. Two years ago Kim left durning the month of May when her husband was promoted and their next assignment was in Wyoming. Then this May Nikki left when her husband received his new duty in Italy. Oh I know they aren’t gone forever.. just not local anymore.
There’s still email, cards, phone calls etc.. just no more lunch dates, Shakespeare plays, coffee dates or seeing them everyday at school. Ok.. I know there are other friends out there and I’m slowly making new ones. This time I’ll just stay away from the military ones..LOL just kidding but then again the majority of people who live around here are in some way connected to the military.
Ok.. enough whining..I don’t even have any cheese to go with it right now..LOL
I didn’t post at all yesterday…oops Sorry about that. I didn’t do much except work on another website, watched some television and packaged up some stuff for shipping that I sold over on Ebay.
I tried taking the laptop out on the patio under the umbrella, but the sun was so bright I couldn’t adjust the screen enough to see. So I’ll just have to remember that mid-day is not the time for surfing on the patio. Maybe I’ll try it earlier today, or either later after the sun is down a bit. I don’t think it will be early this morning though.. still a bit chilly out at 66F.
I posted some new books over on the Book Sale page this morning too. John Grisham- The Brethren, John Grisham- A Painted House, Rosamunde Pilcher- Winter Solstice, Clive Cussler- Flood Tide, Cynthia Buchanan- Maiden, and some books on travel too.
In other news.. thats about it. I’m doing ok too.. still healing up pretty good. There was an ad on television that I want to check out. Its this new stuff for scars called Mederma (or something like that). I want to see if I can find it and maybe it will help my scar out once its finished healing.
Ok.. time to get dressed and do some house work . I hope your having a great Friday morning!!
Ok.. off to bed for me.. I’ve been doing the ‘rest’ thing since about 7pm, so I think I better get to bed before I end up staying up late again. Last night it was 11:30 before we knew it.
I don’t mind..lol.. I can sleep all day.. but J had to get up for work at 5:30.
Pretty good day.. 97 books listed and more to do tomorrow, then I need to think of something else to do to keep me busy.
Watched a interesting show about Boston.. lots of great food and plenty of brew pubs. Maybe we can head up that way sometime when I’m back on my feet, and I’m not in school. I hope you had a great Hump Day!
Have you seen Bruce Almighty yet? I love the previews! LOLOL “I swear I woke up this morning and my boobs felt bigger, do they look bigger to you??”
Wow how time flies when your lazy..lol. Actually I’ve been quite busy for someone thats supposed to be resting. Nah.. I’m fine, and I’m not over doing anything. Feeling better everday.. still sore, but healing pretty good. Today I’ve been trying to sort through all my books I’ve saved and try and relocate them out of the workout room… before someone gets ticked off I knew I had a lot, but I seem to keep finding more and more that don’t have a home.
Last night I got this great idea about having a book sale. This way I can actually list what I have.. relocate them out of the workout room and maybe in the process find them a new home somewhere. So if your a book hound like I am, check them out and maybe you’ll find something you can’t live with out. Pam’s Massive Book Sale. (I’ve still got about 50+ books to post..so check back often)
Ok.. off to the couch to lay down for a bit.. my stomach tends to get sore if I sit up for long periods of time.. but then again my back gets that way if I lay down too long also! Oh well.. can’t win for losing!
I hope everyone has a safe and fun Memorial Day..
In Flanders Fields
John McCrae, 1915.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
